Nuclear Power, Nature, and the Individual is conducted directly in the Chornobyl Zone with Sergii Mirnyi, Master of Sciences, Chornobyl expert and a veteran radiation reconnaissance officer, and guides trained by him. It provides a holistic look at the Chornobyl accident, its causes and consequences for nuclear energy, radiation, and the effect of the accident on nature, society, and people.

Nuclear Industrial Tour - the tour inside the Chornobyl exclusion zone and nuclear power plant to show both how the ChNPP was working after the accident and operates nowadays, as well as to demonstrate the technology of large-scale mitigation process of the nuclear accident. It can last one or two days, plus an optional one day tour to a leading research institution of nuclear energy and radiation safety in Kyiv.

Social and Natural Resilience in the Chornobyl Region explores the flourishing wildlife in the Chornobyl Reservations of Ukraine and Belarus, and human communities in the Zone and close to it. Learn more from the eyewitnesses, survivors, samosely ("self-settlers” who returned to live in the Chornobyl Zone right after the accident), Nuclear Power Plant workers, who were there at the time of the accident and those, who are working there nowadays, and of course from the top Chornobyl researchers and scholars.

From World War to Cold War examines World War II and the Cold War, directly at historical sites, including the nuclearisation, the arms race, and the Chornobyl accident itself, which effectively ended the Soviet Union and the Cold War. Ukraine was on the front lines of WWI, WWII, and the Cold War; so only here many Soviet secrets can be revealed.

Depending on the program, locations may include:

• Sites and museums of the world’s largest assault river crossing and one of the largest operations in World War II – the Battle of the Dnipro, which included the Battle for Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital on the bank of the Dnipro River
• U.S. Army Air Forces (USAAF) Station 559 at Poltava airfield, one of only three U.S. airbases in the Soviet Union, used during "Operation Frantic” in 1944
• WWII bunkers (including those in the “Kyiv fortified area”) and battle sites
• Babyn Yar – Holocaust mass gravesite and memorial to the victims of one of the largest massacres of the Holocaust; Jewish cemetery and Holocaust mass grave in Chornobyl
• Abandoned and eliminated villages in the Chornobyl Zone, where often the only remaining structure is the WWII monument commemorating its residents and liberators, killed in combat during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945
• Chornobyl-2 and radar Duga-1 (aka "Russian Woodpecker"), Soviet top-secret military camp and over-the-horizon radar for tracking U.S. intercontinental missile launches
• The museum, based on the former launching site 309 of a missile regiment with a silo-launcher and a command post, where you can press the famous “red button” and “launch” an intercontinental missile.
• Underground bomb shelters for Kyiv residents and clandestine Cold War-era tunnels under the Dnipro river
• Pripyat, the "ideal” Soviet town, frozen in time – a Pompeii of the Cold War; built for the Chornobyl nuclear power plant workers and abandoned after the accident
• Shooting range, where one can shoot with famous Soviet small firearms, such as Kalashnikov assault rifle AK-47, Dragunov sniper rifle SVD, and Makarov pistol PM

Must have in the Zone:

PASSPORT (not ID) – it should be the one that you specified in the application for the trip! It is impossible to enter the Zone without a passport.

* CHORNOBYL TOUR shall not be liable for your failure to enter the Exclusion zone because of the wrong passport number / name / date of birth / nationality or wrong passport on the day of the trip.

CLOSED SHOES – boots or sneakers, which fully cover your feet without fancy openings, please.

CLOSED CLOTHES – trousers (no shorts, no knee-breeches, no skirts) and a jacket or a shirt with long sleeves. Your clothes should fully cover your legs and arms without fancy openings, please.

! It is PROHIBITED to wear any open type clothing and footwear in the Zone.

To make sure your trip is comfortable and enjoyable, we advise you to:

• have some snacks and bottled water with you so you could have a bite on the way
• have comfortable shoes and clothes, as we are going to walk quite a bit during the day
• check the weather forecast and be prepared for rain or shine – dress warmly for freezing temperatures, have a hat for hot weather, waterproof shoes and spare socks for rain, snow or dew on the grass to ensure you dress accordingly for the walks outside
• it is always a good idea to have your personal first aid kit and a repellent (in case of mosquito season),
• have some wet wipes or paper tissues, or any other personal belongings you might need
• and, most importantly – please double check to TAKE YOUR PASSPORT ( not ID) ; without the passport it is impossible to enter the Zone

Legal issues

No weapons (even with a legal permit) are allowed within the territory of the Exclusion zone.

Visitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not allowed to visit the site.

Our guests shall not fail to comply with the guides instructions regarding safety rules. In case of the occurrence of such a situation, the tour ends immediately.

Age limit

According to Ukrainian law every visitor of the Exclusion zone should be over the age of 18. No underage visitors will be admitted under any circumstances. Notarized parental consent or even their personal presence in the trip do not change this rule.
