Along the waterways of the Zone
We made it possible for you to travel around the Exclusion Zone by boat for the first time in the history of the Chornobyl tourism!
You will enjoy a 3-hour trip onboard a comfortable modern ship and explore the Chornobyl Radiation Biosphere Reserve from water. Enter the Exclusion Zone through the water gateway and go up the river of Prypiat to the very center of the nuclear disaster site. Cross the evacuated villages and the town of Chornobyl, get closer to the sunken contaminated ships and sail under local bridges – all the way to the Onshore Pumping Station near the dried cooling pond. You will see the picturesque places that stay inaccessible in overland tours. Deer, moose, wild boars, herons, eagles, and other wild animals and birds are often spotted in the far-flung corners of the Zone in the distance from popular tourist routes.
This trip is combined. You travel by comfortable bus from Kyiv to the boat’s mooring place. After the river trip in the Zone you will be transferred to a bus for a drive around the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and to visit the town of Prypiat for a 1-hour sightseeing walk.
IT IS SAFE
In 1-day tour to the Chornobyl Zone you receive a total irradiation dose that is:
- equal to 1-hour jet flight
- 160 times less than from one chest X-ray exam
- 3600 times less than full-body CT scan
Book a personal Geiger Counter for the trip! It will show you the irradiation intensity at each step of your trip and your exact dose at the end of the tour.

KelseyGolightly2020-02-20 00:00:00An amazing dayFirst of all, I was really impressed with the company before I had even gone on the trip. I had some issues with getting a visa to enter the Ukraine, being on a NZ passport, when I emailed them asking if I could potentially rebook, they got back to me quickly and were happy to help. Luckily, I didn't need to rebook but it took an added stress off, knowing that the company could offer me a spot on another tour if I needed it! The trip itself was excellent and our guide Sasha was so knowledgeable, helpful and funny. He was very clear so we knew exactly what to do and where to go on each stop. The tour was fascinating and did not feel like a whole day, we couldn't believe how quickly it went! Thanks for such an incredible day. I highly recommend this tour.
